“Hey, Mira? Do you think it’s a good idea for friends to become romantically involved? Or, well, more accurately, I suppose, sexually involved.”

“Hmm. That’s an interesting question. Why do you ask?”

“Oh, just wondering…you know.” Jaylyn almost grimaced at the terrible lie. “So what do you think; good idea or no?”

“Well, I guess it depends,” Mira said nonchalantly. She was flipping through her book.

“Okay. On what?” Jaylyn asked.

“You know...maybe…how long they’ve been friends. How close their friendship is.” Mira paused before saying, “Or…how good the sex with Nick really was.”

******

When Jaylyn Marks wakes up naked in the bed of the best friend and roommate she has vowed never to become intimate with, she can’t believe she’s let herself become another name on the long list of women he’s slept with. Although she’s freaking out about the significant breach in the boundaries of their friendship, Dominick seems to be taking it all in stride. Jaylyn’s not sure whether to be relieved he’s so nonchalant about the fact they’re suddenly having sex or if she should be insulted by his casual attitude. Even though sharing something deeper with Dominick has been what she’s hoped for for a long time, the last thing Jaylyn wants is to lose his friendship if things don’t work out.

When death, family conflict, and a boyfriend who might find out about what they’ve been doing threatens Jaylyn’s peace of mind, can she and Dominick find a way to retain their friendship or will anger and confused feelings compromise everything they’ve always been to each other?

Warning This book contains strong language and explicit sexual content.

I really enjoyed this story. Nick and Jaylyn had a great relationship that started in college. The way it progressed actually made sense. That was refreshing. I like the fact that Jaylyn wasn't some over the top drama queen. I like the fact that Nick wasn't some super rich billionaire taking her up out of poverty. They both had regular jobs and lived in a regular home. I like how we were let into both of their thought processes. I like that he wasn't some knuckle dragging alpha male to her spineless submissive. I like that he was like a lot of guys, meaning he screwed around a lot but came to a decision about what he wanted for his life in the future on his own, without her sulking him into it or haranguing him into it. I like how there was this super strange twist in the story that wasn't used as an excuse to inject unnecessary angst into their relationship. This was just a well written story that was a good read.

Damn this book got me smh jay was not who I expected lol. Wow Austin is a prick for that, couldn't believe that about her parents though I would have need years of therapy after that info lmao. I'm glad she have friend like Mira and nick, seriously Austin couldn't come to supported her during that though time for but he can show up to make trouble with Nick and call her name bastard. Wouldn't it be cool for Neil and Mira to get together he he, they relationship will be sizzling hot lol. I know those two would hook up with each other lol payback Mira. This was such a beautiful love I throughout enjoy details of the book, definitely recommend to others.
I LOVE this book. I've re-read it a few times already. The characters feel like friends. They are honestly written and feel like people you could actually know. Jay is a sweet girl but not in a weak fragile way. Dominick is an unexpected hopeless romantic. The whole story is about two friends who finally realize their true feelings for each other through an unexpected turn of events. And the plot twist with the parents! I did not see that coming. And Mira boy oh boy has that girl got a mouth on her. But she really is the bestfriend any girl could want. In summary, buy this book. It's great. I love it. And the sequel is awesome too!
This was an unexpected pleasure to read! I purchased this book on a whim and even after purchasing I let it sit there for a while... begrudgingly I started and couldn't stop!!! This book had me going through all the emotions right with the characters, I absolutely LOVED the witty remarks and the relationships with the 3 friends! That Mira is hilarious!!! Can't wait to read her book!

Dom and Jay have been best friends since college and never moved into anything more not realizing that the relationship they had was always something more than friends. Their journey into the unknown will take you on a roller coaster filed with twists and turns that will keep you turning the pages. If you are interested in a story that is not only believable but will keep you so enthralled that you feel yourself reacting with the characters then this is a book for you to try. Enjoy! I know I did!
This was an awesome story. Unlike Maya & Gabe's story, I didn't find any gaps. That for me is great. I actually blew through this one in one night. Simply couldn't put it down

There was some really unexpected parental issues going on but I'm glad it didn't deter Jay & Nick' s affection toward one another. I really thought Jay was going to overthink the situation and ruin it, but she was deterred by Nick. I loved his commanding presence. I even liked the banter between Mira & him. Cute.

Even though this was a shorter novel, it was good that major issues in their past was revealed that supported the present story. On to Miracle' s story. Happy reading. Great writing Ms Riley
...And trust me I've read a lot.

When I saw the plot outline for this book, I thought to myself "Oh boy, how realistic is this going to be? Best friends living together and never wanting more?" Downloaded the sample, and decided what the hell, give it a try. I was very pleasantly surprised by this story and the way Ms. Riley explains the situation between Jay and Nick, their friendship and unique living arrangement and how everything quickly changes following a pivotal event in Jay's life. This isn't a very long book, which meant I ended up reading it 5 times in as many days. Yes it was that good.

The storyline unfolds smoothly and believably, with no outrageous scenarios popping up to distract our hero and heroine from getting together (unless you count the reveal about Jay's parents, which was...interesting to say the least). Our characters struggle against their own pasts, pride and stubbornness. The realism was echoed throughout the tale, especially in the portrayal of the main male character. Nick isn't filthy rich or head of a company or prince or any other fairy tale cliche, which was very refreshing. Their friendship (and his tough banter with Mira) set the tone for a believable set of people, with their own hang-ups and problems.

And the epilogue, whose chapter begins almost like that of the first (I'm ashamed to say I only caught that by accident on the fifth read-through) is just so sweet that I read it every time with the hugest smile on my face. This last chapter is like icing on the cake to definitely make this the sweetest love story I've ever read, in spite of the editing and grammatical problems.

One huge problem for me though, especially since I thought this story was going for realism. SPOILER ALERT

It's acknowledged by four of the characters that Nick has been through quite a number of women, yet when he and Jaylyn sleep together she doesn't insist on a condom, or at the very least a discussion about his health. I guess I can fanwank and say she already knew he had a negative HIV/AIDS status, given that they are best friends and talk about most things. But I was disappointed that this was not brought up in the story, for both the readers to see Nick's responsibility regarding safe sex and to portray Jay as being concerned about that. As the point was made repeatedly that he cared nothing for the women other than to take care of his male needs, it seemed a little odd to not follow through with a commentary about safe sex. Sorry, I'm off my soap box now.

None of this changes the beauty of reading this relationship changing from one state, friendship, to include another, lovers.
I really enjoyed this story. Nick and Jaylyn had a great relationship that started in college. The way it progressed actually made sense. That was refreshing.
